We are based in Rajasthan, India. We have no London office. We say that plainly. The work happens on your website and inside AI engines, and we hold calls in UK hours. For the full method, see our guide to generative engine optimization.
How UK buyers search
How do UK buyers use AI search to compare providers?
Quick answer: they ask for options, then ask which one to trust. A UK buyer looking for a solicitor, an IT supplier, a clinic or a software tool can ask an AI engine for options, read a Google AI Overview, or ask Perplexity to compare. The answer names a few firms with reasons. For many categories, that list shapes who gets an enquiry.
We do not quote UK adoption percentages on this page. We did not pin a dated primary source for them while writing it, and we would rather leave a number out than guess. Where a figure matters, we can share one with its source and date on a call.
Buyers often add a town or region to the question, and many search from a phone. Short, direct answers on your pages suit both. UK prompts also tend to contain a trust check: is the firm regulated, is it registered, who reviews it, what happens if something goes wrong. Pages that answer those questions in plain text give engines something safe to quote. Our guide to researching buyer prompts shows how we find the real wording.
- Best provider in a named town or region
- Comparison between two or three firms
- Questions about cost, process and credentials
- Is this firm regulated, registered or accredited
Engines change often. Anything we say about how a given engine behaves is true as of October 2026. Retest before you rely on it.
Do it today
How can a UK business check what AI engines say about it?
- 1
Write the prompts your buyers use
Include your service, your town or region and one trust question, such as whether the firm is regulated. Add one comparison with a named competitor. Aim for 10 to 20 prompts.
- 2
Run them in five engines
Use ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Perplexity, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot. Run each twice, because answers vary, and note the sources shown beside each answer.
- 3
Record wrong or missing facts
Write down any old address, missing service, wrong partner name or wrong registration detail. These are the fastest fixes.
- 4
Test crawler access
Use the AI Crawler Access Checker and read what to allow in robots.txt before you change anything.
- 5
Compare your public records
Put your Companies House entry, regulator entry, profiles and site side by side. Every mismatch is a candidate fix.

What differs
What is different about the UK market
These are the points we check first on a UK site.
Regional intent
Buyers name a city or county. Pages with clear service areas and consistent business details can match those prompts.
British English
Spelling and phrasing follow UK usage. We write pages the way your buyers write their questions.
Registered company details
Clear company name, registered address and contact details help engines resolve who you are.
Claims rules
UK advertising has a written code. We write claims you can support and keep your approvals in the loop.
Reviews and trust signals
UK buyers read reviews. Engines may read the same sources, so we check what is said about you.
Professional bodies
In regulated trades and professions, membership bodies are often cited. We check whether yours is.
Profiles and directories
Which business profiles and directories matter for UK AI visibility?
Engines read more than your website. They also read profiles that repeat your name, address, phone, hours and category. When those agree, an engine can resolve you as one entity. When they differ, it may show an old fact or skip you.
Profiles you control come first. Google Business Profile is the main one for any business with a location or service area, and Google lists keeping Business Profile information current among its practices for AI features (Google Search Central, AI features documentation, checked October 2026). Bing Places for Business matters because Microsoft Copilot draws on Bing. Apple Business Connect covers Apple Maps. LinkedIn company pages carry B2B facts.
Then the UK specific places other people maintain. The Companies House record shows your registered name, number and registered office, and it is a public record that buyers and engines can check. Depending on your field, the regulator register matters too: for example a professional regulator for solicitors, a financial regulator register for advisers, or a care regulator listing for health and care providers. Review platforms, trade association member lists, local business directories and tradesperson platforms can all appear in answers for the right category. We do not assume a list. In Week 1 we record which ones engines actually cite next to your competitors.
A practical point for UK firms: the registered office is often an accountant address, while the trading address is where clients meet you. Say which is which on your site, so an engine does not use the wrong one. Our guides on local GEO and GEO for local businesses go deeper.
- Companies House name, number and registered office match the site
- Regulator or professional body register entries match the site

Claims rules
What UK advertising rules and trust signals should your pages respect?
The Advertising Standards Authority site, which we checked in October 2026, describes the CAP Code as the rule book for non broadcast advertisements, sales promotions and direct marketing communications. It also lists claims, endorsements and testimonials as a topic area. That is the extent of what we state as fact here about advertising. We are not lawyers, and nothing here is legal advice.
We also flag, without interpreting, other areas your adviser may raise. UK data protection law covers forms, cookies and analytics on your pages, and the Information Commissioner's Office is the regulator. Consumer protection law covers fake and misleading reviews. Regulated professions and financial promotions have their own rules, set by their regulators. We have not verified the current wording of each from a primary source for this page.
In practice, we write only claims you can support, with no invented awards, rankings or numbers. Testimonials and reviews on your pages must be real. Every rewritten page comes to you for approval before it goes live. If your sector needs legal or compliance review, they see the draft first.
Trust signals are separate from rules. They are facts a buyer can check: company number, registered office, named directors or partners, regulator registration numbers, accreditations you hold, dated case summaries you may publish and real reviews. Put them in plain text on an About page and on relevant service pages.
Plain, supportable claims also suit GEO. Engines tend to repeat specific statements that are backed by the page. A bold line that cannot be backed up is a poor thing to quote.
- No invented awards, rankings or statistics
- Real testimonials only
- Regulated wording approved by your compliance owner
- Company number and regulator details stated as text
Local sources
Which sources do AI engines cite for UK queries?
We record which sources appear for your prompts instead of guessing.
For UK prompts, engines may cite company sites, trade and professional bodies, national and regional news, review platforms, directories and community threads. A law firm sees a different mix than a building supplier.
In the Week 1 baseline we log which sources appear next to your competitors. If the gap is on your site, we fix it. If it is off site, such as inconsistent listings, we list what to change. The Pilot does not include digital PR. See how AI search engines choose sources.
Keep in mind that engines differ. Google states there is no special markup needed for AI Overviews and AI Mode beyond the usual Search eligibility (Google Search Central, October 2026). Microsoft Copilot leans on Bing, so Bing Webmaster Tools and Bing Places are worth a check. Our post on Copilot, Bing and GEO explains.

Which UK sectors lean on which kind of trust page?
| Sector | Trust page buyers look for | What to publish, if it is true |
|---|---|---|
| Legal and accountancy | Who is regulated, by whom, and who does the work | Firm name, regulator registration, named partners, services and fee approach |
| Clinics and care | Registration with the care regulator and practitioner credentials | Provider registration details, practitioner names and registration numbers, services offered |
| Trades and home services | Accreditations, insurance and recent reviews | Accreditations held, insurance statement, areas covered, dated reviews |
| B2B software and IT | Security, data handling and customer references | Plain data handling statement, certifications held, reference summaries you may publish |

This is a pattern guide. Your adviser decides what you must publish. We keep the wording you approve.
GEO Pilot
What the GEO Pilot covers for a UK business
- 1
Week 1: Baseline and audit
We test up to 20 buyer prompts across five AI engines, check AI crawler access, and run a technical and entity audit.
- 2
Week 2: Technical fixes
We implement crawler access and robots rules, sitemap, canonicals, structured data, and llms.txt if useful.
- 3
Week 3: Page rewrites
We rewrite and restructure up to 10 priority pages to be answer ready, with direct answers, question headings, FAQs and schema.
- 4
Week 4: Retest and handover
We run the same prompts again and hand over a before and after report and a 90 day roadmap.
Worked example
What would the Pilot change for a regional UK professional firm?
Example, hypothetical: a regional accountancy firm in the Midlands has a Services page that lists tax, payroll and bookkeeping in one paragraph. Its Google Business Profile lists an old office. Its Companies House record shows a different trading name from the site. A directory lists a partner who left.
In Week 1 we would test prompts such as which accountants near a named town work with small construction firms, how to choose an accountant for a limited company, and whether the firm is regulated. We would record who is named, which sources are cited, and where the engines state wrong facts about the firm.
In the next weeks we would make crawler access clean and add organisation and service schema that matches the visible text. We would split services into separate pages, each with a direct answer, who it suits, what the process is, what the client supplies, how fees are explained without inventing figures, and an FAQ. The About page would state the registered name, number, regulator details the firm approves, and the people involved. We would give the firm a list of listings to correct.
Week 4 retests the same prompts. This example is invented for method only. It is not a client result and it promises no citation.
Time zones
How do you work with a GEO agency in India from the UK?
India has no daylight saving. The UK moves between UTC and UTC+1. That puts India 5.5 hours ahead in winter and 4.5 hours ahead in summer. A 10 am call in London is mid afternoon in India in winter and early afternoon in summer, so UK mornings suit us well. Written notes follow each call.
The UK and India change their gap twice a year when UK clocks move, and the UK and US move on different dates. We state meeting times in UK time and confirm the date when clocks change.
We have no UK office. You give access through an admin login, a staging site or a Git repo, and you approve changes before they go live. The Pilot is one domain and one language, $999 USD, one time. It does not include a new site, digital PR, link building or paid media.
Our proof so far is in the Gulf. Emtech, a Dubai IT company selling IT AMC, is now cited for IT AMC queries in Google AI Mode, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity and Gemini. It is one client in one market and not a promise for the UK. See our Dubai page, and for the US, our US page.
- Calls in UK hours
- Written summary after every call
- Changes approved by you before they go live
The problem
Where UK businesses lose AI visibility
Trading name and registered name drift
Engines match entities by name. If the site, Companies House and profiles disagree, they may treat you as several businesses. Explain the link and use each name consistently.
Service pages that list instead of explain
A single paragraph that lists ten services gives an engine nothing to quote. Give each priority service a page with a direct answer, who it suits and how it works.
Crawlers blocked by a plugin or firewall
Security tools and copied robots.txt files can block AI crawlers without anyone noticing. Test, then allow the bots you want.
FAQ
Questions people ask
Do you have an office in London?
No. We are based in Rajasthan, India and work remotely. We hold calls in UK working hours and keep written records of decisions.
Is AI SEO the same as GEO?
In practice, mostly yes. Different people use AI SEO, GEO, AEO and LLMO for related work. We explain the differences in our GEO, AEO and SEO comparison.
What does the GEO Pilot cost?
$999 USD, one time, delivered inside 30 days, done for you. Ongoing work is quoted. See the pricing page.
Can you promise citations?
No. Nobody controls AI engines. We improve what they can read and trust, test the same prompts before and after, and report honestly.
Do you check UK advertising rules for my pages?
We write supportable claims and send every page to you for approval. We checked the ASA description of the CAP Code in October 2026, but we are not lawyers. For legal review, involve your own adviser.
Which website platforms can you work on?
WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify, custom code and headless. See GEO for WordPress.
Should I put my Companies House number on my website?
It is common and useful. Buyers and engines can check it against the public record, so stating your registered name, number and registered office as plain text helps them confirm who you are. Check with your adviser for anything your sector requires.
Does it matter if my trading name differs from my registered name?
Yes. Engines match entities by name. Explain the link on your About page, for example that a trading name is used by a registered company, and use each name consistently on your profiles.
How can I see where I stand today?
Use the free AI Visibility Checker and the AI Crawler Access Checker.
Will the GEO Pilot work for a UK business that sells to other countries?
The Pilot covers one domain and one language, so we choose the buyer prompts that matter most, including any that name another country. If you sell into several markets with separate sites or languages, the extra sites are quoted as ongoing work. We would agree the prompt set with you in Week 1 and test it across five engines.
How soon will AI answers change after the fixes?
It varies by engine and by how often each one refreshes its sources, so we cannot give a date. Week 4 retests the same prompts and the 90 day roadmap sets later checks. We report what changed and what did not, with dates, and we promise no outcome.
